For Authors

1. General Information

Tudor Journals is an international platform for scholarly publishing, dedicated to the dissemination of peer-reviewed academic and scientific research. All manuscripts submitted to Tudor Journals must comply with principles of originality, methodological rigor, transparency, research integrity, ethical conduct and responsible scientific communication.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscript is accurate, original, properly referenced, ethically conducted and submitted exclusively to one journal at a time. Submission of the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is not permitted.

Each journal hosted by Tudor Journals may have specific aims, scope, article types, editorial requirements and preferred reference style. Authors must always consult the specific instructions of the target journal before submitting a manuscript.

2. Accepted Reference and Citation Styles

Tudor Journals accepts manuscripts prepared according to one of the following reference styles, depending on the academic field and the specific journal policy:

ABNT Style

Recommended for journals in Education, Administration, Humanities, Social Sciences, Applied Social Sciences and Brazilian academic contexts.

Authors using ABNT must follow the current Brazilian standards for citations and references, especially:

  1. ABNT NBR 6023: references;
  2. ABNT NBR 10520: citations;
  3. ABNT NBR 6022: scientific articles, when applicable;
  4. ABNT NBR 6028: abstracts, when applicable.

APA Style

Recommended for manuscripts in Psychology, Education, Social Sciences, Management, Behavioral Sciences and related fields.

Authors using APA must follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 7th edition.

Vancouver Style

Recommended for journals in Health Sciences, Medicine, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Epidemiology, Sleep Science, Biological Sciences and biomedical research.

Authors using Vancouver must follow the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors — ICMJE.

Important Rule

Authors must use only one reference style consistently throughout the manuscript. It is not acceptable to combine ABNT, APA and Vancouver in the same manuscript.

If the target journal specifies a mandatory style, that journal-specific instruction prevails over the general Tudor Journals policy.

3. Submission Process

All submissions must be made through the Tudor Journals author dashboard. Authors must create an account, choose a journal that is currently accepting submissions and complete the online submission process.

The submission process includes the following steps:

  1. Selection of the journal;
  2. Selection of article type;
  3. Completion of manuscript metadata;
  4. Registration of all authors and institutional affiliations;
  5. Upload of the manuscript files;
  6. Confirmation of ethical declarations, conflict of interest and submission checklist;
  7. Final review and submission.

Incomplete submissions may be returned to the authors before editorial evaluation.

The official language of Tudor Journals is English. Manuscripts written in English are strongly encouraged for international visibility, indexing and citation potential.

Some journals may also accept manuscripts in Portuguese, Spanish or other languages, depending on their editorial policy. When manuscripts are submitted in a language other than English, the title, abstract and keywords in English may be required.

Authors are responsible for ensuring language quality. Manuscripts with serious language problems may be returned for revision before peer review.

The funding statement should include:

  1. Name of the funding agency;

If the study received no funding, authors must state:

“This research received no external funding.”

19. Data Availability and Reproducibility

Authors are encouraged to make research data available whenever possible, respecting ethical, legal and confidentiality restrictions.

A data availability statement should be included in the manuscript.

Examples:

“The data that support the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.”

“The datasets generated and analyzed during the current study are available in a public repository.”

“Due to ethical restrictions, the data are not publicly available.”

For quantitative studies, authors are encouraged to provide statistical scripts, syntax files or supplementary methodological details when applicable.

20. Plagiarism, Redundant Publication and Research Misconduct

Tudor Journals does not accept plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, duplicate publication, redundant publication or inappropriate authorship practices.

Manuscripts may be screened using similarity detection tools. A high similarity index does not automatically imply plagiarism; however, all cases will be evaluated by the editorial team.

Authors must ensure that all direct quotations, paraphrases, tables, figures and ideas from other sources are properly cited.

Manuscripts derived from theses, dissertations, conference papers or preprints must clearly disclose this information during submission.

21. Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools

Authors may use artificial intelligence tools for language editing, formatting support, translation assistance or technical support, provided that such use is disclosed.

Artificial intelligence tools must not be listed as authors or co-authors.

Authors remain fully responsible for:

  1. Accuracy of the manuscript;
  2. Originality of the content;
  3. Integrity of the data;
  4. Correct citation of sources;
  5. Absence of plagiarism;
  6. Ethical compliance.

When AI tools are used, authors must describe how they were used in the manuscript, cover letter or acknowledgments, depending on the nature of the use.

Example statement:

“The authors used artificial intelligence-assisted technology for language editing. The authors reviewed and approved the final content and take full responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of the manuscript.”

22. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Tudor Journals undergo an initial editorial screening.

The editorial team may reject manuscripts before peer review when they are outside the journal scope, present serious methodological problems, do not comply with ethical requirements or fail to meet minimum formatting standards.

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent for peer review.

Tudor Journals adopts double-blind peer review whenever applicable. Reviewers will only have access to the anonymized manuscript after accepting the review invitation.

Each manuscript is usually evaluated by at least two independent reviewers.

Possible editorial decisions include:

  1. Accept;
  2. Minor revisions;
  3. Major revisions;
  4. Resubmit for review;
  5. Reject.

The final editorial decision is made by the editor based on reviewer recommendations, manuscript quality, ethical compliance, relevance and contribution to the field.

23. Revisions

When revisions are requested, authors must submit:

  1. Revised manuscript;
  2. Response letter to reviewers;
  3. Highlighted or tracked changes version, when requested.

The response letter must address each reviewer comment clearly and respectfully.

Authors must indicate where changes were made in the manuscript.

Failure to submit revisions within the deadline may result in withdrawal of the manuscript.

24. Appeals and Complaints

Authors may appeal editorial decisions when they believe there was a significant error in the review or editorial process.

Appeals must be submitted with a clear academic justification. Appeals based only on disagreement with reviewers will not be considered sufficient.

The editorial team will evaluate appeals according to the journal’s editorial policy and publication ethics standards.

25. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain responsibility for the content of their manuscripts.

The copyright and licensing policy may vary according to each journal hosted by Tudor Journals.

Whenever applicable, articles may be published under an open access license, such as Creative Commons, according to the policy of the journal.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material, including figures, tables, images, scales, questionnaires and extensive textual excerpts.

26. Publication Fees

Publication fees, article processing charges or submission fees, when applicable, will be clearly stated on the specific journal page.

No fee will be charged unless explicitly informed by the journal.

Payment of a fee does not guarantee acceptance. Editorial decisions are based exclusively on scientific merit, ethical compliance, methodological quality and relevance to the journal scope.

27. Proofs and Publication

After acceptance, the manuscript enters the editorial production stage.

Authors may be asked to review proofs before publication. At this stage, only minor corrections are allowed. Substantial changes in content, authorship, data or interpretation are not permitted without editorial approval.

The final version may be published in HTML, PDF or other formats adopted by Tudor Journals.

28. Reference Style Guide

Authors must prepare references according to the style required by the target journal.
